Wedding Day Emergency Kit
You’ve planned and prepared for months for this day and you don’t want anything to spoil it. While you can anticipate that something may go wrong you can alleviate a disaster by making an emergency kit ahead of time. Have your parents keep the kit in their car so it will be ready if needed.
Get a medium-sized plastic tub and put all these items inside. You can easily add to this box before the wedding day to be sure you have everything you may need.
- Stain removing towelettes. A pack of these will help remove stains from anyone’s clothing so they look crisp for pictures.
- White chalk. This can help cover stains on the white bridal gown.
- Static guard spray. Make sure nobody’s slip is sticking to their gown by using a quick spray.
- Safety pins and straight pins. Get a few in different sizes. They can work miracles on torn hems and seams or for corsages.
- Duct tape in white. This tape will hold anything including hems that have been pulled out or decorations that are falling.
- A spare pair of hosiery. If you are wearing hose a spare pair may come in handy.
- A pack of wet wipes. These may come in handy for sticky hands when a trip to the ladies room is out of the question.
- Tissues to wipe tears or sweat and dab extra makeup
- Small makeup kit. Have a small kit with extras so you can re-apply your makeup during the evening.
- Deodorant. You may end up perspiring more than usual on this hectic day.
- First aid kit. Include band-aids for small cuts or to help with blisters from new shoes.
- A cold pack. These handy packs are activated when you need them. They are great for overheated brides or for sore feet or even for a headache.
- Gum or mints to help keep breath fresh throughout the day.
- Extra perfume to keep you smelling fresh and pretty all evening
- Aspirin in case someone gets a headache.
- Phone numbers. Write down a list of the phone numbers of all the service providers for the day. Include emergency numbers for the florist, disc jockey, bakery, caterer, photographer and any other services you have contracted with. If something goes wrong you can easily get in touch with the right people in a snap.
- Hair dryer for hair emergencies or to quickly dry wet clothing
- Sewing kit. You may need this for tears or rips that may occur.
- Extra copies of directions to the reception
- Nail glue if wearing false nails.
- An extra bow tie.
- A list of discount stores that are close by if something is needed quickly (for instance, if the cameras are missing from the tables you can have someone quickly run to get some more).
