Writing Your Vows

As the wedding day draws nearer and nearer, the time is coming for you and your future husband or wife to write their vows. This is quite a simple and enjoyable task for women generally, it is the men who have the most trouble putting their feelings on paper and having to say them in front of all your guests.

The traditional wedding vows consisted of things like I will love you forever, until the day we die, you're my soul mate and other phrases to this effect. What some men and women are doing today is telling stories of how they met, making jokes and just telling the plain humorous truths of their relationship. This is just an example for any husband and wife to be that their wedding vows do not have to be traditional and sappy. If you are a more humorous type of couple then work that into your vows. Your wedding vows are supposed to be about you, not about what you think they are supposed to sound like.

Being creative is a special and memorable way to write your vows. Express your feelings to your future spouse the way you would in private and take that down on paper that is how easy it is! Unfortunately there are companies and websites out there that offer men and women the chance to purchase pre-written speeches and vows for their wedding. This is something that completely takes the sincerity out of the vows and will most likely not be appreciated by your future spouse.

Writing your vows does not have to be hard. Simply take your time and write down what is in your heart. When you choose to spend the rest of your life with someone it should be easy for you to share your feelings with them and that is the perfect way to begin your vows, as if no one else were in the room.
